Le Cordon Bleu Intermediate: Poulet Fermier à la Façon de Gaston Gerard/”Gaston Gerard” style free-range chicken

This dish was pretty simple – it was just a chicken – so everything turned out pretty well.  For some reason everything tasted bitter (apparently eating pine nuts can do that to you, search up pine mouth), so I couldn’t really taste my own stuff very well, but the chef said that everything was well done (chicken, sauce, vinaigrette, and pancake thingies).  Instead of putting my plate in the oven at the end, though, I decided to flamber the top to melt the cheese .  I wouldn’t have gotten caught, either, if it wasn’t for my neighbor asking the whole class “why is there a blowtorch out?” sigh..
